My Inspiration

Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness.  Being enriched in everything to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

II Corinthians 9:10,11

As our society continues to evolve and expand, the traditional roles within the family are also in constant flux.  Men have increasingly began to assume the mantle of homemaker and/or single parent, who are expected to provide the love, care, and nurturing that has forever been looked upon as a woman's job.  While mothers have become commonplace in the work force, fathers more than ever must be adept at all areas within the home from cleaning, ironing, shopping, and of course cooking.

As a father of three children and the cook in the home, I gradually found that sharing the task of preparing a meal with my kids not only was an excellent opportunity to spend intimate quality time, but, it was also therapeutic for me.  Being able to impart fatherly wisdom and advice was a given during these moments but the bonus was that I was learning not just more about my children, I was learning so much from them.  From the competitive banter of my two sons to the joy of watching my then two year old daughter mimicking my every move on her toy kitchen as I prepared dinner had such a profound effect on me that I enrolled into culinary school looking to quench what was becoming an incredible thirst, the joy of cooking.

With the love, support, encouragement and prayers of my dedicated wife Tracey I was able to work a full-time job and graduate with honors from The Art Institute of Philadelphia.  Not only do I cherish my marriage to this incredible woman I admire her grace; her unwavering faith in God, and her understanding of all things "Charles."  Without her this vision could never come to fruition.  But the reason the title Destiny's DAD exists is because of my lovely and comedic daughter, Destiny who has the ability to make me laugh when I'm down; who gets me to play when I'm tired, and, tells me "You're the best dad in the whole wide world," when my esteem is low.  Along with her brothers Christopher and Dontae, "Honey Bee" (as I call her) are not just an inspiration to me but they are "My Heroes."
